About the Event
THE METRO ATLANTA CYCLING CLUB (MACC) began in the mid 80’s out of the now defunct Yellow Jersey Bicycle Shop in South Dekalb. It started with approximately 15 members and currently have a combination of over 100 active and alumni members. The club consists of a wide range of riders from various ages, backgrounds, and professions, who all have a common enthusiasm and love for cycling.
Since the beginning, MACC’s mission was to promote cycling in the black community and build camaraderie amongst all cyclists. As the club grew a secondary mission evolved to support cycling amongst local youth with the belief that cycling would help promote a healthier lifestyle and psychological well-being. In 2005 MACC established the One Love Century to not only host a premiere century ride but to financially support its secondary mission. Proceeds from the One Love Century provides financial support to our several beneficiaries so they may continue to build and sustain youth cycling opportunities in metro Atlanta.
